Return Policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase but understand that sometimes an item needs to be returned. Please review the return policies below and contact us with any questions.

In-Store Purchases

You may exchange a book or non-book item in its original condition at the manager's discretion. Non-book items must also include all original tags and/or packaging. If an exchange is not viable, we may also offer a gift certificate in the amount of the initial purchase. 

If the item(s) are not eligible for an exchange, we encourage you to have them processed for trade credit. For more information about our trade credit program, please visit our Trade Credit page. 

Special Orders

In general, special order items that have been ordered specifically at your request may not be returned. If you find upon pickup that the item is incorrect, damaged, or the condition does not match what was quoted to you at the time of purchase, you may return the item for a re-order or refund. You may not take the item and make a return at a later time; a return must be decided upon pickup. 

For any special orders shipped direct, a return must be approved at the manager's discretion. Please contact us first before attempting to ship a return. The customer is responsible for costs of return shipping unless otherwise stated by the manager. We recommend you return your items using an insured and traceable method. We are not responsible for packages lost or damaged during return transit. Authorized returns should be sent to:

Online Orders

For any orders placed with Bank of Books through a separate online marketplace (such as AbeBooks), please contact us about your order through your account with those websites. Our customer service department will be able to best assist you regarding returns via the specific marketplace through which you placed your order. 

For orders placed with us on our website here (bankofbooks.com), a return may be approved for exchange, store credit, or a refund at the manager's discretion and only at the current value of the book. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order to initiate a return. Please see Special Orders above for more information about mail returns or exchanges. If picking up your order in-store, a return request must be decided upon at pickup. 

If you receive your order and find an item to be missing, incorrect, or damaged please contact us within 7 days so that we may address and resolve the issue as quickly as possible for you.
