Does Bank of Books / Abednego Book Shoppe only sell used books?
Most of our stock is made up of used books, yes. But we do have a small selection of new books in-store, and we can always order new books upon request, including orders placed on our website here.
Can you tell me if you have a specific book I'm looking for?
Unfortunately, we don't have a computerized or written inventory of our stock. If you're browsing with us in store, we're happy to point you in the right direction and help you find what you're looking for. Since our stock is split between our two stores and an offsite warehouse, you can request a manual search for specific books to see if we have it available at any of these locations. You can also request a book search online through the Book Search Request form. Because our staff will need to manually search our stock, please allow a few hours up to a day or two for us to complete your search.
Do you buy books?
No, we don't purchase books. We accept books either as a donation or as part of our Trade Credit program.
Can I drop books off for trade credit at Bank of Books?
We do not accept trade at our Bank of Books store. Please drop trade off at Abednego Book Shoppe. Visit our Trade Credit page for more information.
If I find a book on your site, does that mean it's currently in stock at your store?
Not necessarily. If your order is time sensitive, please call us to confirm availability.
If I can't find a book on your site, does that mean that it's currently not in stock at your store?
Also not necessarily. Because we're a used bookstore, we have a vast, eclectic collection of books available in-store that may not be listed on this website. If you're after something specific, feel free to request a manual search using our online Book Search Request form.
Can I use my trade credit on orders?
No, trade credit cannot be used towards orders. You may use trade credit towards used items we have in stock only. For more information, visit our Trade Credit page.
I received a confirmation e-mail. Does this mean that my order is ready to be picked up or has been shipped?
No. This just means that we've received your order. You will be contacted when your order has shipped or is ready to be picked up.
When will I get my book(s)?
Orders take approximately one week to arrive. This is merely an estimate, however, as we cannot guarantee the exact date of arrival. Delivery time depends on the method of shipping selected, stock availability, and current USPS delivery times.
What if I need to return something?

What forms of payment do you accept?
When placing an order with us in-store, we accept credit cards, checks, and cash. For all online orders, we accept payment by credit card.
How can I check the status of my order?
Log in, select "My Account," then "Orders." A list of all orders and their current status is provided.
I placed an order with Bank of Books through a separate online marketplace. Can I contact you here about my order?
You will not be able to access any information regarding orders placed on a separate online marketplace (like AbeBooks or Alibris) on this website. Please contact us about your order through your account with those websites. Our customer service department will be able to best assist you via the specific marketplace through which you placed your order.
