@Bank of Books - Santa Paula - Bobette Stanbridge - Children's Books
Back in 1974 Bobette Stanbridge was hired to create a cast of characters to be used for kid’s products. Her designs had sayings around them and were put onto quilts, pillows, tote bags, shoe bags and t-shirts. Then they were distributed across America at all the top department stores. Many years later her daughter saw some of the illustrations at her cousin’s home and told her mom she should do something with them.
In 2008, Bobette wrote her first Bunky book called “A Joyful Day.” Then came “The Magic Kite”, “The Amazing Piano” and “No Wishy Washy Wishes.” They all have the Bunky characters with a few additional ones added to each story. They are adventure stories with guidance quotes on each illustrated page and are written to lift kids up and show them positive things about life.
Bobette Stanbridge was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended the Art Center College of Design that was in LA but is currently in Pasadena. She majored in Advertising Illustration. Bobette began meditating in 1967 and decided to share the wisdom she gleaned from that into her books in hopes that she could help kids learn things they might not get from a formal education. She has 2 children and 2 grandkids and has been selling real estate since 1980. She is currently Broker/Owner of Homes N Land Realty.
Bunky books have been sold all over America and Canada. There are prints and more for sale on Bobette’s website at bunkybooks.com.
